The 40th Annual Rotary Daylesford Art Show will be on over Melbourne Cup weekend with an opening on Thursday evening, November 2, at 6:00 pm.

The Art Show is the largest undertaking of Rotary Daylesford. The Show highlights the work of many talented artists from throughout the region.  A percentage of the sale price of each painting sold during the Show supports Rotary projects in the community.

Judges for the Art Show this year are Kim Percy and Morgan Williams, co-directors of Radius Art Space. Their website opening words say it all: “We want to connect our talented community to the world.”

Kim Percy

Kim Percy is a multi-disciplinary artist working within the space of social change. She has exhibited in many festivals and awards including BOAA Biennale of Australian Art, Ballarat International Foto Biennale, HeadOn Photo Festival, Bowness Photographic Prize, Mullin Conceptual Photographic Prize and the Glover Landscape Award. Over her 30 year career, she has had several solo exhibitions, which notably include a solo exhibition in New York City and recently at Sol Gallery, Fitzroy. Kim is currently doing PhD research examining dyslexia from a visual art perspective.

Morgan Williams likes to traverse the world of art and design and has been involved in the field of communication design for over 30 years. Morgan has been Gallery Director at Radius Art in Hepburn Springs for the past 3 years.

Morgan Williams

Morgan says “Creativity is a quality I value in myself and others. For me it’s the ability to see life from unique angles, to cultivate original thoughts, and foster connections that enable our world to change.”

The show will be set up in the Town Hall over this weekend and judging will be done on Sunday afternoon.

And the paintings will be awaiting locals and visitors for the Community Bank Daylesford District Opening and Awards Night at 6 pm on Thursday, November 2 at the Daylesford Town Hall. In addition to paintings, the Show this year will include quilts, sculpture, bonsai and pottery.

The Opening Night will offer music from the Hepburn Players and Soloist Tim Drylie. Art on display will be available for sale. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.

This is an opportunity for our artists to showcase local artists art and for the community to enjoy it and at the same time raise funds for Rotary Daylesford Community Projects.

Tickets for the opening night are $30. They are available at the door or at https://www.daylesfordartshow.com.au/openingnight
