Local schools will benefit from a state-wide distribution of $13.5 million allocated through the Planned Maintenance and Bushfire Preparedness programs to ensure schools are able to undertake essential works and repairs to ensure bushfire readiness.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas announced that schools in Macedon are among more than 350 Victorian schools to embark on a maintenance blitz in coming weeks. “We’re making sure local schools in Macedon are safe and comfortable – giving our students the best possible settings to learn and thrive in,” said Ms Thomas.

Nearly 325 schools have been allocated a total of more than $8.2 million for vegetation clearing and activities that reduce the risk of harm from a bushfire, providing a safer environment for students and the beating heart of communities across the state.

Local schools which will benefit from the program include Yandoit primary ($18,000), Hepburn Primary ($22,000), Bullarto Primary ($20,000), Daylesford Primary ($27,000) and Daylesford College ($35,000).
