The Victorian State Government is making Victoria’s key motorcycle routes safer by investing almost $20 million across seven new projects.
Minister for Roads and Road Safety, Paul Hamer has announced the latest round of the Motorcycle Safety Infrastructure Program.
Safety upgrades totalling $595,920 are coming to Tylden-Woodend Road.
The upgrades include:
- Retrofitting barrier underrun protection (rub-rail) to existing guardrail
- Delineation improvements at selected sites and along the route
- Sealed shoulders
- Bellmouth sealings
- Pavement repairs
The seven projects are funded with $13.3 million from the Motorcycle Safety Levy and $6.7 million from Victoria’s second Road Safety Action Plan.
The Levy also funds infrastructure upgrades, rider safety programs and research and innovation activities.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas said: “These upgrades on Tylden-Woodend Road will help reduce the risk of crashes and give riders more confidence on one of our region’s most popular routes.”
