Daylesford Bowling Club is preparing to welcome the community through its doors for a special Open Day celebrating the completion of its new synthetic bowling green.
The new green is an important addition to the Club, providing an all-weather surface that can be used throughout the year and creating more opportunities for bowls, social activities and community events.
The Open Day in October will give locals the chance to see the new green, meet Club members and have a go at bowls in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No previous bowling experience is needed, with bowls and equipment available and members on hand to help anyone keen to give it a try.
A BBQ sausage sizzle will also be running, with sausages available for a coin donation. All money raised from the BBQ will go towards supporting the Daylesford Highland Gathering, continuing the Club’s connection with and support for other local community organisations and events.
The new synthetic green will allow Daylesford Bowling Club to expand its activities throughout the year, from pennant and social bowls to barefoot bowls, community events and opportunities for people of all ages to get involved.
More than simply opening a new bowling surface, the Open Day is a chance to bring the community together and celebrate the next chapter for a Club that has been part of Daylesford since 1899.
Everyone is welcome to come along, join in the fun and have a roll on the new green.
