Daylesford Repair Cafe is starting a series of ‘how-to’ workshops so you can learn how to fix things.
Have you got an item of clothing in need of repair? Do you want to learn how to fix it yourself? Come along to our introductory workshop and we’ll teach you how. This first workshop will cover all the basics so if you have lost buttons that need replacing, have pants or a skirt that need hemming or have a torn garment or seam, bring it along and we’ll fix it up together.
Your tutor Jane Knight has been sewing since the age of 5 and has extensive experience in designing, creating, mending, building, sewing, upholstering, knitting and crochet.
Bring along something you want to mend. Discover the joy of mending and repairing, and add life to clothes that you love.
Join us at the Repair Cafe between 1pm and 4pm this Sunday, April 18th, and see what else our team of fixers are capable of repairing. Enjoy a cuppa, cake and conversation while you’re there. In addition to our basic hand sewing workshop, there’ll be fixers able to repair a range of household items and gardening tools including mechanical and electrical problems. There’s also bike repairs. You can get your knives sharpened and we’ll be starting up our first ‘mending broken hearts’ table for those in need of some ‘tlc’.
