Christ Church Concerts – Christine Douglas OAM & Studio Singers

A Feast of Song from Purcell to Puccini

The first concert in this new series marks a change in terms of song rather than instrumental.  Christine Douglas’ extensive operatic career, her ongoing work developing the next generation of singers and relocation to Daylesford two years ago have all combined to make this concert possible.

The concert will include an exciting variety of familiar arias and duets from opera.  Mozart, Purcell, Rossini, Puccini and Dvorák are just some of the composers represented.  Included in the program Christine Douglas will be performing both the moving and beautiful Dido’s Lament from Dido & Anaeas by Purcell and the famous love song Chanson d’amour by Fauré.

The Christine Douglas Studio Singers include both those planning singing careers or the pursuit of something they’ve always wanted to do.  They include Hilana Alouani-Roby, Nadia Cassidy, Larissa Davis, Anna Hoffman, Luana Howard and Jazzie Zuyderwyk. Accompanist is Adam Przewlocki.
