Christ Church Concert – Lizzy Welch & Joy Lee

Lizzy and Joy are both based in regional Victoria and have been playing together for over a decade. They are no strangers to Christ Church Concerts both appearing in our 2023 concert series.

Their artistic relationships has extended into imagining new sounds for baroque instruments, leading to the creation of dozens of new works for baroque instruments written for Joy and Lizzy, of which we will hear three examples at this concert. Baroque composers Heinrich Biber, Isabella Leonarda, Girolamo Frescobaldi and Carlo Farina will be featured along with contemporary composers Rohan Drape, Allan Walker and Biddy Connor.
