Don Harvey

The Daylesford Agricultural Society collaborated with the Friends of Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens in their Winter in the Gardens festival by hosting a winter garden flower show. Over 170 entries went on display in the Alf Hedland Conservatory. We thank all participants and congratulate the winners in each category.

Rosettes were awarded to the best in each class:

  • Jonquils: Verna Baker
  • Hellebores: Sally Malcher
  • Winter Flowering Bulbs: Gillie Gough
  • Camellias: Glenlyon Progress Association
  • Australian Natives: David Redfern
  • Proteas: Simone Howard
  • Foliage: David Redfern:
  • Potted Plant: Sally Malcher:
  • Floral Art: David Redfern
  • Any other Varieties: Martine Whitcroft

Sashes were awarded to Martine Whitcroft, Best Exhibit In Show, and Verna Baker, Aggregate Winner. Leslie Hewitt, Helga Hart and Gillie Gough deserve honourable mention because all scored highly in the Aggregate Sash count.
