Two new defibrillators have been installed in a community partnership by Blooms the Chemist and Daylesford Rotary. Blooms have placed one outside their entry on Vincent Street and Rotary’s Defibrillator has been placed outside the Daylesford Library. Each defibrillator is available all day every day.

Daylesford Rotary President, Andrew Littlejohn siad, “There are several defibrillators in and around Daylesford that are inside buildings and are only accessible when the buildings are open. Some members of our community noticed 24/7 accessible defibs in other regional towns, and asked why not in Daylesford?”

“One of the locals then approached Blooms the Chemist and Daylesford Rotary asking if they could sponsor two Defibrillators. Andrew Leslie from Blooms organised the two life-saving machines with Daylesford Rotary paying for one.”

Blooms the Chemists have placed many defibrillators outside their shops around Australia as part of their community support commitment. Daylesford Rotary raises funds to support numerous community projects locally, elsewhere in Australia and overseas.

“At Blooms the Chemist we pride ourselves on the accessibility of our pharmacists and health service,” said Blooms owner and pharmacist, Andrew Leslie. “Providing a 24-hour accessible Defib machine is simply furthering our commitment to support the wonderful community of Daylesford and its visitors.”
