The increasing numbers of displaced people globally can be overwhelming and leave us wondering how we as individuals can help.  Kyneton based groups, Cassinia Community and The Social Foundry in conjunction with Community Refugees Sponsorship Australia (CRSA) are offering an opportunity to be part of the solution.

CRSA, an independent national charity, is at the forefront of delivering innovative community-led refugee sponsorship programs. CRSA invites groups of everyday Australians around the country to step up to the challenge and show the capacity and spirit of ‘welcome’ that exists in our local communities. CRSA trains local groups to provide welcome and support to refugee newcomers, to help them build connection and belonging – for more information on CRSA you can visit:

We are inviting you to join us at a Community Information Forum for an overview of the program and how you can become involved. A representative from CRSA, Blaise Itabelo, will be the guest speaker to take you through his journey from growing up in the Democratic Republic of Congo, living in a refugee camp and eventually migrating to Australia. Blaise will explain the difference a welcoming community can make to new arrivals.
