The Daylesford Good Grub Club is partnering with groups across the Shire to support families in need this Christmas.

Earlier in the year, Clunes Neighbourhood House, Creswick Neighbourhood Centre and Trentham Neighbourhood Centre began to partner with the Daylesford Good Grub Club to provide food security services across the Shire.  Now all groups are collaborating further to bring the Reverse Advent Calendar to the entire Shire.

The program is calling on resident participation to join in 20 days of giving.

A Reverse Advent Calendar begins as an empty box.  For 20 days in the lead up to Christmas you place one non-perishable food or toiletry item into the box.  After 20 days you return your filled Reverse Advent Calendar to the Daylesford Good Grub Club and it will be distributed to people in the Hepburn Shire community who are experiencing food insecurity.

The initiative is an expansion of the Reverse Advent Calendar Ballarat.  Daylesford Good Grub Club recognised the opportunity for the Hepburn Shire community to participate in a program that promotes kindness, generosity, and joy!

Reverend Jenny Hayes, president of the Good Grub Club, says “Christmas is a time of giving and receiving.  We would be very grateful if you could assist us to fill a box with goodies.  We promise to deliver so that others might receive.  Together we can share the joy and hope of the festive season.”

You can pick up your Reverse Advent Calendar between Monday 16 November and Thursday 26 November in preparation for 20 days of giving.  The Good Grub Club is open between 9.00am and 12.00pm Monday to Thursday at 17 Duke St. You can follow them on Facebook for more updates.
